WORKING TOGETHER FOR A FUTURE FULL OF POSSIBILITIES
HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (HU) is joining Dotslash as a knowledge partner to strengthen the Utrecht startup and scale-up’s ecosystem. This collaboration highlights the importance of education as a driver of innovation and entrepreneurship. Together, Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and Dotslash are developing new projects and activities that support startups and scale-ups in their growth, and prepare students for a future full of opportunities and possibilities.
Connection between education and business with Internship & Project Desk
HU students now have the opportunity to work on projects with startups and scale-ups at the Dotslash campus, located at Europalaan 93. The HU will also offer education and training for entrepreneurs at Dotslash. In addition, the pop-up Internship and Project Desk, made possible in part by the U-TECH Community, offers a platform that can directly link companies and students. Niels Spronk, Community Manager at Dotslash, says, “Connecting students and entrepreneurs creates an enormous source of knowledge and talent. This opens doors for both students and start-ups and scale-ups.”
Practice-oriented solutions with the SME Workshop
An important part of the collaboration is the connection with the MKB Workplace, a program that links students from Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and regional MBO institutions to companies. This offers startups and SMEs support with current challenges, such as digitization, marketing and business strategy. Erik Mooij, Director of Digital Together at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences adds, “This program is a good example of how education can contribute to innovation, in this case in the digital field. This collaboration offers concrete solutions to startups, scale-ups and SMEs, while students gain valuable practical experience by directly applying their knowledge.”
Triple Helix Model: Innovation through Collaboration
Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and Dotslash embrace the Triple Helix model, in which education, government and business collaborate to stimulate innovation and economic growth. Since Dotslash’s founding in 2018, the municipality of Utrecht has played an important role in creating a dynamic environment where talent and entrepreneurship flourish. With HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht as a partner, this ecosystem will be further strengthened, which will make the collaboration between all parties involved even more effective.
